I have always seen the world differently than most, especially when it comes to financial matters. When I was 8 years old, my older brother had to raise money for a school trip by selling thirty $1 boxes of peanut M&Ms. The day before the money was due, he had sold all of one box ….to my parents. I took the entire case from him, walked around the neighborhood, and sold every box of M&Ms for $2, netting me $29 in profit.
I loved creating new financial products at my first job at Goldman Sachs, my first job out of college. I started and ran a global business purely dedicated to that endeavor. Then I built DailyPay, a $2 billion HR/Payments company, where we invented “on demand pay”, a permanent change in the way employees get paid forever around the world.
As an entrepreneur, I stick to three core principles: 1. Product – keep it simple and easy. The best products are the ones that abstract complexity and present a client application that is simple, easy, and transparent. 2. Execution – culture is the most important ingredient to team success. Investing in culture drives customer satisfaction, speed, and decision making. 3. You’re not smarter than the market – self explanatory.
