Mobile games publishing company based in Cape Town, South Africa Carry1st has secured $27 million in its most recent funding round spearheaded by BITKRAFT Ventures.
Other participants who featured in the funding round include TTV Capital, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Kepple Ventures, Lateral Capital, Alumni Ventures, and Konvoy.
Carry1st which is headed by  CEO Cordel Robbin-Coker, revealed its intention to channel the raised funds into the development, licensing, and publishing of new games. Additionally, the company has plans for the expansion of its monetization-as-a-service solution known as Pay1st.
Carry1st primarily develops licenses, and publishes games which it monetizes through Pay1st another of its creation. Pay1st is a proprietary payments and online market place which helps its users effectively monetize content.
Some of the games scaled by Carry1st include SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off, Call of Duty®: Mobile, and Mine Rescue. The company which is led by Cordell Robbi-Coker signed a partnership deal with Riot Games; the creator and publishers of the famous League of Legends which remains the most played PC game globally.
In a 2022 the company secured a partnership deal with Riot Games, the company which developed and published League of Legends (verified as the highest played PC game globally). The company also has the likes of Teamfight Tactics, VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, and League of Legends: Wild Rift in it’s portfolio.
