Elon Musk. It seems there is no end in sight for news on Elon Musk for some time to come as he always finds himself in the news. The latest is the business transaction between his two businesses.

SpaceX, Elon Musk’s rocket company has keyed into an intense paid advertising campaign form Twitter, another company recently acquired by Musk. Reports from CNBC reveal that the ad campaign targets the promotion of Starlink internet service which is the latest product from SpaceX. The initial focus of this campaign is to attract customers from Spain and Australia.

Twitter will score at least $250,000 from this deal, and while this may seem unsubstantial considering Twitter’s reputation, the current crusade to hustle every dollar in by the company since Musk took over tells something different.

The details of the advertisement deal involves among other things promoting Starlink at the top of Twitter timelines of Spanish and Australian accounts for 24 hours.

These accounts will also see Starlink ads on the first three hits while this deal lasts.

Musk is not an infant when it comes to publicity as he finds a way to be constantly promoted by the media.

The Starlink campaign marks SpaceX’s biggest advertising on Twitter.

One thing that is easily noticeable in Twitter’s new administration is the commitment to scale the company and make it more profitable especially after shelling out $44 billion to acquire the microblogging company. The financial pressure is evident from the sales of Tesla stocks to the tune of $4 billion following the acquisition.

Since he bought the microblogging platform, Musk has outrightly fired Twitter’s top executives, laid off almost half the workforce including 80% of contractors. Musk has also introduced the controversial monthly $8 subscription for the blue check verification badge for Twitter’s users.

Musk’s actions brought an initial confusion to the platform due to the shortage of staff to check impersonators paying for verification badges. The resulting crisis and the struggle to fill the vacant roles have led the company to make attempts to woo some laid off staff back.

The current intervention of SpaceX may perhaps be as a result of Twitter’s current crisis which has reduced its advertisement revenue. Time will tell if SpaceX can be effective with its bailout and if Twitter will bounce back from current events.
