About Roxanne Rose 1 and Hit & Run:

Roxanne Rose 1 is a retired Nurse Practitioner and now a mystery writer. After an extensive career in medicine, including critical care nursing, teaching, and legal nurse consulting, in retirement, she became enthusiastic about storytelling.

Dividing her time between the quiet beauty of Maine and the sunny warmth of Florida, Roxanne brings her love of small-town life to the reader. Her mystery novels are filled with nosy neighbors, enigmatically buried secrets, and the kind of cozy charm only a New England village can offer; however, there’s always a twist just beneath the surface.

When she’s not writing or tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, you’ll find her enjoying time with her children and grandchildren, reading, or walking with her Cavachon dog, Roxanne III. Her stories reflect her life’s passions: perpetual learning, understanding people, resolving problems compassionately— roles that are now evident in the realism and emotional depth of her fiction.

Nancy’s dog, Cody, was barking; when she went to get him, she found a body on the side of the road

Linda, a 38-year-old single mom, was injured severely by a hit and run driver. Nancy ran home to call an ambulance and get help.

There are many suspects including the men playing cards and drinking at the Roadhouse, a new man in town whose car is dented and her ex-boyfriend Linda, recently kicked out of her home.
Linda’s daughter, Brenda, saw her grandfather, Tom, driving drunk in the area Linda was found and thinks he did it.

Handsome Detective, James Jason, better known as JJ, is assigned the case and spends a lot of time clearing most of the suspects except Tom. But he has no proof.
Because JJ is fond of Nancy and trusts her instincts; he follows an unlikely lead that she encourages.

Will her lead be helpful or just another dead end?
