Elise Krentzel CEO, and founder of EK Editorial and Coaching is known as the Rebel Writer. Elise has had an extraordinary life filled with high tragedy and comedy, both unbearable and courageous. Starting as a teenage music journalist who toured on a press junket with Kiss to Japan, she achieved several firsts worldwide.
She was the youngest Bureau Chief for Billboard Magazine in Japan at 21; introduced punk rock to the Japanese market through her promotion agency; founded a digital publishing company specializing in travel guides with GPS on CD-ROM pre-internet in Europe; had one of the first travel blogs in 2000; created an AIDS awareness non-profit in South Africa aimed at teenagers, and had her first and only love child in her forties.
She runs EK Editorial and Coaching, a business specializing in book coaching – online and one-to-one, editorial services, and ghostwriting. EK Editorial and Coaching was formerly known as EK Public Relations. Krentzel says, “I’ve shifted my focus from public relations and related activites such as earned and paid media and marketing since Covid. The type of clients I formerly represented: non-profits, artists, art organizations, and local businesses just don’t have the dollars anymore to make it sustainable.
“On the other hand, more and more people want to write their memoir, management or how-to book, or leave a legacy for their families, and that is where I can help them achieve their dreams.”

After living in five countries on three continents, she returned stateside in 2008 and moved to Austin in 2011, which she calls home. And her sixth country!
